Nourishing Young Minds
Fostering healthy relationships with food for K-8 students through discovery and play.

Wholesome Foundations
The Food Foundations Project is committed to fostering a healthy relationship with nutrition and promoting explorative behaviors. By focusing on food exploration and hands-on literacy for kids, we help the next generation become adventurous, informed eaters.

Our Mission
We are dedicated to helping children to the best of our ability with nutritional literacy. Through our instruction, we encourage kids to lead healthier lives and to try new things.
Our Initiatives
Nutritional Literacy
We teach K–8 students the basics of nutrition (food groups, nutrients, balanced meals, food labels, etc.) through simple, interactive lessons that build foundational knowledge that carries onto adulthood.Learn more
Food Exploration
Having a diverse diet is important regarding both childhood and adult life, which is why we encourage students to try new foods, build curiosity, and develop a positive relationship with healthy eating.Learn more
Family & Community Engagement
We provide resources, guidance, and opportunities for families and volunteers to support healthy habits at home and stay involved through interactive lessons and social media.Learn more

Sign Your Child Up!
This form is for parents/guardians interested in having their child participate in Food Foundations, a student-led pilot program focused on helping children build healthier eating habits in a positive, age-appropriate, low-pressure day. The program is centered on nutrition habits, trying new foods (explorative behavior), and creating a more balanced relationship with eating. Filling out this form helps us learn a little about your child and follow up about possible participation.
